An impromptu plan started coalescing around a 40% off sale on the Nerf N-Strike Elite Rhino-Fire Blaster: mod this thing into an IoT device. Today, the package showed up, so it's time to start planning a build.
The build will be a combination of custom software and hardware. At a minimum, we'll want to build:
- REST API
- electronic fire control
Proposed stretch/v2 goals:
- rotation and up/down control
- target sensing
- ammo counter
- remote PoV video
- UIs (iOS, Android, and/or HTML)
- Roomba mobility mount/ammo retrieval

We have an Intel Edison and a Grove Starter Kit, now we just need your help to plan and construct a build.
This project is meant to both grow our experience in the IoT space and have fun.
Iteration 1 goal: Software controlled triggering of the gun turret
