Project Architect
The Project Architect is responsible for technical account development and management. While the Project Architect is primarily responsible for the high quality execution of software development tasks and mentoring activities, the Project Architect is also responsible for supporting the business development manager's account strategy.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepares project plans and updates them regularly, using project planning and tracking methods
- Identifies appropriate resources needed and assigns tasks and monitors task status
- Owns the software development schedule and resolves issues which threaten the schedule
- Maintains a Risk List and updates the risk management plan
- Prepares regular status reports across projects and facilitates regular status meetings
- Ensures the development team is following the standard processes
- Establishes Business Modeling Guidelines as appropriate
- Reviews Business Modeling and Requirements Artifact Sets to understand the stakeholder's needs
- Understands client's business model well enough to define and shape a business case
- Works with the client to capture business vision
- Verifies the UI standards and guidelines to be consistent with stakeholder needs
- Captures the initial understanding of stakeholder needs
- Verifies that a Requirements Management Plan has been established and that it meets the stakeholder's needs
- Captures high-level functional requirements with Use Cases
- Works with the Project Manager to establish project design guidelines
- Implementation, Testing, and Deployment
- Works with the Project Manager to perform code inspections and reviews
- Oversees the integration and system tests and evaluates the results
- Verifies that the key technical (supplemental Requirements) such as reliability/availability, performance, scalability and supportability are supported by the deployment environment
Qualifications
- BA or BS, in computer science, engineering, or science/technology-based discipline
- 6 - 10 years of relevant technical or application architecture experience
- Track record for delivering technology innovation that offers value for clients
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Effectively communicates and interfaces with client and NVISIA personnel
- Uses effective and professional communication skills both verbal and written
- Effectively project manages the work that needs to be completed with little direction
- Strong people management skills
- Effectively mentors and provides career direction to team members
- Experience managing a team of technical people
- Experience managing multiple client projects
- Applied object oriented design principles in a team environment
- Worked with UML on a team project
- Demonstrated the ability and strong desire to grasp new technologies
- Has significant experience with various programming languages. Significant experience with Java is a requirement.
- Solid understanding of the software development life cycle and software methodologies including Object Oriented design methodologies
